Job Description A client of Insight Global is seeking a Chief Engineer who leads the engineering staff and manages daily operations to the highest standards of quality and customer service. This leader will administer the department in alignment with the management team and client expectations, upholds the company's code of conduct and policies, and plans, implements, coordinates, and supervises mechanical operations, maintenance, communications, energy management, and workforce development across assigned properties. The Chief Engineer oversees fire/life safety, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical systems, stays current on HVAC technology, and may perform limited hands‑on duties, including Watch Activity. Essential responsibilities include supervising and developing a maintenance staff of 8 engineers; ensuring full safety program compliance; managing operational accounts, utility tracking, budgeting, and variance reporting; and conducting regular inspections with rapid issue resolution. The ideal candidate will drive preventive and predictive maintenance programs; maintain procedure manuals and an operations document library; will deliver system training; coordinate contractors and tenant work; respond to emergencies; manage inventory and purchasing; and ensures all regulatory and code compliance. They will need to be meticulous about documentation (reviewing binders to confirm PM completion), oversee BAS/BMS and CMMS diagnostics, and lead capital and expense planning-writing scopes, selecting contractors, and executing projects such as rooftop replacements.
