Job Description

This community-focused hospital in Southeastern Washington is seeking an experienced Hospital Controller to support the continued strength and stability of its financial operations. The Controller role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys creating clarity from complexity while contributing to a mission that genuinely matters.

The Controller will be joining a not-for-profit, patient-centered organization known for its commitment to safety and high-quality care. This hospital carries multiple “A” grades from Leapfrog and has been named among the Top 100 Critical Access facilities, giving the Controller the opportunity to support an organization with a strong foundation and a respected reputation.

In this environment, the Hospital Controller reports directly to the senior financial leadership team while supporting directors and department managers across the hospital. The Controller also collaborates closely with accounting staff, financial analysts, and administrative leaders to keep financial data accurate and accessible. Daily interactions often include working with clinical and non-clinical teams to ensure the organization has the financial insight needed to move forward.

The Controller will have oversight of the hospital’s accounting and cost-analysis functions, including monthly financial statements, variance reviews, and budgeting support. This department handles everything from reporting to audit preparation, and the Hospital Controller will guide a group of talented professionals who value precision, teamwork, and open communication. It’s an environment that moves quickly at times, but it’s grounded in collaboration and strong internal relationships.

The Controller will lead essential accounting functions, including cost analysis, financial reporting, budgeting processes, and the evaluation of accounting procedures. In this role, the Controller will also support audits, develop internal methods to improve accuracy, and help leaders understand the meaning behind financial trends. Administrative responsibilities include mentoring staff, establishing best-practice processes, and presenting financial insights to executives who rely on this position for dependable guidance.

Living and working as a Controller in Southeastern Washington offers a mix of quiet spaces and outdoor fun. The region is known for wide-open skies, rolling landscapes, and access to hiking, camping, fishing, and even jet-boating for those who love a little adventure. The pace is comfortable, the scenery is beautiful, and it’s a great match for someone who values balance while making an impact in a tight-knit community.

This Controller opportunity offers Competitive Compensation and Generous Benefits, along with the chance to influence the financial future of a hospital that plays an essential role in its community. It’s a meaningful position where your expertise will directly support patient care, stability, and long-term organizational success.
