Reports to: Chair, Department of Internal Medicine

Position Overview

BMC Brighton, an integral part of the Boston Medical Center Health System, is seeking an Internal Medicine Physician to join our growing primary care team. This role offers the best of both worlds: practicing community-based medicine with the support, resources, and academic connections of a leading academic medical center. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive primary care to patients across the lifespan, while having opportunities to engage in teaching, quality improvement, and system-wide initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, evidence-based outpatient care for patients for adults, including preventive, acute, and chronic disease management.
  • Build strong, long-term relationships with patients and families in a community-focused environment.
  • Collaborate with specialists, hospitalists, and allied health professionals across the academic medical system to ensure coordinated care.
  • Participate in inpatient coverage or procedures as aligned with interests and hospital needs (optional).
  • Contribute to hospital and system-wide quality, safety, and population health initiatives.
  • Serve as a preceptor or mentor for medical students and residents rotating through the community hospital.
  • Document care in the system’s integrated electronic medical record.

Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
  • Board-certified or board-eligible in Internal Medicine.
  • Licensed or eligible for medical licensure in Massachusetts.
  • Dedication to patient-centered, equitable care in a diverse community setting.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in community-based or academic-affiliated practice.
  • Interest in quality improvement, population health, or medical education.
  • Commitment to advancing health equity and addressing social determinants of health.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Competitive salary with productivity and quality incentives.
  • Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental and retirement plans.
  • Paid time off, CME days, and CME allowance.
  • Malpractice coverage provided.
  • Opportunities for academic appointment and professional development through Boston Medical Center Health System.

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and departmental budget. The above hiring range represents a good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
