Job Description

Private NYC (Upper East Side) family seeks an energetic, full-time Housekeeper/Nanny to assist in the daily service of their NYC residence. This is a Monday-Friday position, 9am to 5pm with flexiblility. From 9am to 3pm, the candidate will perform housekeeping duties and from 3pm - 5pm, the candidate will assist with childcare duties for 3 school aged children, (pick up from school, arrange playdates, sports, prepare dinner etc.) The candidate should be extremely detail-oriented, organized, warm and nurturing. Travel to Nantucket in July and August is a plus, but not a requirement. Must be dog friendly!

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Superior organization skills and willingness to go above and beyond in all aspects of the job
• Assist with meal prep and childcare related duties
• Organize inventory and restock as needed
• All aspects of general housekeeping, deep cleaning, and upkeep of the residence
• Ability to perform museum-quality cleaning with proficiency in special surfaces (wood, glass, leather, antiques, silver, etc.)
• Completing the family’s laundry including washing and ironing clothes as necessary
• Pet care such as walking, feeding, etc. as needed
• Maintaining residence for guest readiness at all times
• Willingness to run routine errands such as dry cleaners, groceries, etc.
• Additional Housekeeper  and Nanny responsibilities and duties as needed and requested by the family

Requirements:

• Strong command of English language; outstanding communication skills both written and verbal
• Excellent references required from both current and previous employers
• Minimum 5 years of experience working in a private home
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Comfortable and willing to work in a home with children and pets
• Exceptional organizational skills and dedication to responsibilities; willing and able to take direction well
• Thorough knowledge of deep household cleaning, laundry, organization, fine arts, and antiques
  
• Poised and professional in both mindset and manner; use of utmost discretion and confidentiality at all times
• Flexibility in scheduling with the willingness to work additional hours as needed
• Comfortable working in a home with pets
• Legally able to work in the United States
