Responsibilities

Exciting opportunity to join the inaugural Ascension Seton OB Hospitalist group in Austin, Texas!

As we prepare for the grand opening of our state-of-the art Ascension Seton Women's Hospital - a facility designed to deliver comprehensive patient-centered care across the spectrum of women's health - we are establishing a dedicated Obstetric Hospitalist Program . This team will enhance safety, continuity, and patient satisfaction through 24/7 onsite obstetric coverage at 2 sites and weekend coverage at a third site.

The Obstetric Hospitalist will provide round-the-clock inpatient obstetric care, ensuring immediate availability for labor and delivery triage, emergent obstetric events, and inpatient consultations. The ideal candidate is a board-certified/board - eligible OB/GYN who thrives in a fast paced environment and is committed to deliver high quality, evidence based care.

Position Highlights:

• 3 site choices - Ascension Seton Women's Hospital, Ascension Seton Medical Center Williamson in Round Rock, Texas and Dell Children's Medical Center Special Delivery Unit
• Flexible scheduling models available including 12 or 24-hour shifts
• Full-time, part-time or PRN available
• Anticipated commitment of service of this group to each of the 3 sites includes: Dell Children's Medical Center - 24/7, 7 days/week ; Ascension Seton Medical Center Williamson - Friday, 5pm to Monday, 8am ; Ascension Seton Women's Hospital - 7pm to 7am weekdays, Friday, 7pm to Monday, 7am .
• Compensation is per hour determined by acuity level of the patients: Ascension Seton Women's Hospital - 200/hr; Ascension Seton Medical Center Williamson - 180/hr; Dell Children’s Medical Center - 150/hr
• Professional liability coverage with tail.
• Participation in shaping the culture, workflows, and growth of a new flagship program in women's health.

Additional Requirements:

• Completion of an accredited residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology
• Board Certified or Board Eligible by ABOG
• Current Texas medical license (or eligibility) and DEA registration by start date
• Prior experience as an OB hospitalist or in high-acuity obstetrics preferred but not required.

Requirements

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Texas Medical Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
