Overview: The Correspondence Specialist is responsible for the scanning, handling, workflow and delegation of the initial sorting, data entry, and processing of paper and/or electronic insurance Referrals, Prior Authorizations, and Correspondence received by Children's Mercy from insurance companies or guarantors. This position provides analytical support to Customer Service and CDI Supervisors and leadership. The incumbent may act as a team lead and trainer to both new and current team members.   • Describe Essential Function: Responsible for the overall scanning, handling, workflow and delegation of the initial sorting, data entry, and processing of paper and/or electronic insurance Referrals, Prior Authorizations, and Correspondence received by Ch
  • Describe Essential Function: Responsible processing Commercial and Government Insurance Correspondence and Authorizations.
  • Describe Essential Function: Handles sorting and distribution of all incoming mail that is receied in Patient Financial Services and Revenue Cycle.
  • Describe Essential Function: Utilizes expertise and acts as the knowledgeable resource to train and serve as a team lead.
Qualifications:
  • Associate's Degree or 5-7 years experience Prior Authorizations Experience, Document Scanning Experience, Medical Insurance Billing, Insurance Follow up, Patient Accounts Experience, Revenue Cycle Experience

This is an intermittent remote position, which means that the person hired will work with his or her manager to determine a schedule that includes both at home and on-site hours at a Children's Mercy location. The incumbent must live in the Kansas City metro area.
